  • Step 1

    Start with clean nailsβ€”no polish or gel. Take a piece of paper or tape and wrap it around your nail, making sure to cover the widest part.

  • Step 2

    Using a pen, mark the two edges corresponding to the maximum width of your nail.

  • Step 3

    Then measure the distance between the two marks using a ruler, in millimeters (mm). Record each measurement, from thumb to little finger.
